Holy Jumeirah Mosque

Jumeirah Mosque is considered by many to be the most beautiful of Dubai's mosques. An exact copy of Cairo's Al-Azhar Mosque that is eight times its size, the Jumeirah Mosque is a fine example of Islamic architecture.

This stone structure is built in the medieval Fatimid tradition with two minarets that display the subtle details in the stonework. It is particularly attractive in the evening when lit with floodlights.
The Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Cultural Understanding organises guided tours of the mosque designed to try to foster a better understanding of the Muslim faith. Tours begin at 10am daily, except Fridays.

Jumeirah Mosque is a mosque in Dubai City. It is said that it is the most photographed mosque in all of Dubai. Organized tours are available for non-Muslims. Construciton began in 1976; the mosque is built in traditional Fatimid style

Jumeirah Mosque Dubai is a dominant landmark of Dubai city. Built in the medieval Fatimid tradition, this stone structure is a tribute to modern Islamic architecture. Dubai City is a complete up to date travel tour destination with best offers and information on hotels, flights, restaurant, shopping, events and more.

Dubai Interior Design Trends-Making Dubai Captivating

Unmatched growth and progress in a short period of time have enabled Dubai to become the travel and business hub of Middle East.

Breathtaking real estate developments like Dubai Marina and Burj Khalifa, and architectural wonders like Palm Islands have made it popular among tourists, who love exploring wonderful places.
But it is not enough to build concrete and glass structures. They have got to be renovated to become comfortable and livable.

If you observe the residential and commercial dwellings anywhere on the globe you will find that every city has setup its standards to improve interiors of houses and commercial spaces to provide comfortable indoors for all.

Temperature and climatic conditions greatly affect interior design trends of any city.
Being located on Arabian deserts temperature tends to be high in Dubai during the day and especially during summer season.

Let's Unveil AL FAHIDI Fort

Dubai was a transit point for caravans on the trade route from Iraq to Oman, and for dhows between India, East Africa and the Northern Gulf. This eventually led to the city's establishment as an international centre of commerce where many cultures and traditions mixed. Dubai's traditional architecture reflects this blend of nationalities and cultures. Whilst clearly Arabic in style, it is also influenced by Asian and European ideas.
A report from M. Houghton of the Royal Navy in 1822, described Dubai as a collection of mud huts "surrounded by a low mud wall in which are several breaches, & defended by 3 round towers, and a square castellated building, with a tower at one angle …and having only 3 or 4 guns mounted ...The Western tower, which stands on a small cliff over the creek, has also 3 or 4 guns, and is in moderate repair."1

Dubai's oldest building, Al Fahidi fort, was built in 1799, and is probably the "square, castellated building" of which Houghton wrote. It was used as the residence of the ruler as well as a shelter for people in case of attack. It now houses the Dubai Museum.
The traditional vernacular style of architecture in Dubai is the result of a mixture of three dominant factors: the climate (hot and humid), the religion and customs of its people, and the locally available building materials.

The museum was opened by the ruler of Dubai in 1971, with the aim of presenting the traditional way of life in the Emirate of Dubai. When entering, one can see the fort constructed and the various displays that go along with it. From the fort, there is a path to the galleries, which display the general culture of the land, especially in the 1800s. It includes local antiquities as well as artifacts from African and Asian countries that traded with Dubai. It also includes several dioramas showing life in the emirate before the advent of oil, in addition to artifacts from recent discoveries as old as 3000 BC.

Deira Souks- The Art of UAE

Deira is located on the northern bank of Dubai Creek and the winding streets here unveil the melting pot of different nationalities that have come to call Dubai home. On the shore, ancient dhows load and unload with modern banks, hotels and office buildings for a backdrop. For travelers Deira is most famous for its traditional souks (markets), which bustle with shoppers at all times of the day. Deira Gold Souq is world-renowned as the largest gold bazaar in the world and the reason that Dubai has received the name "City of Gold". Jewellery of all kinds is available in a variety of designs from traditional to modern and plenty of options to customise your own design.

The Deira Spice Souq sells every imaginable spice with stalls overflowing with bags of frankincense, cumin, paprika, saffron, sumac and thyme as well as the fragrant oud wood, rose water and incense. The market was established in the 1830s and features restored wooden archways and wind-towers. For a much less touristy experience, head to the fish market where you'll find loads of local action.
